This book gives the absolute beginner a good grounding in how to play the accordion, whether studying to play seriously or just to play at home and amuse oneself.   The text is straightforward and instructions are easy to follow, with good illustration and hints on the best way to practise.   There are 40 or so pieces of music, mostly with a Scottish theme, clearly set out for 12 bass instruments and using no more that 8 treble notes.  However, larger instruments may be used with this tutor book and bass charts for 48, 72, 96 and 120 bass instruments are also included.  Grade 0 - 2

Volume 2
Volume 2 carries on from volume 1.   An accordion with at least 48 basses is needed for the exercises which progress in difficulty and if mastered take the student to a good intermediate standard.  35 predominately Scottish pieces .  Grade 2-5
